About Joseph Montrone, Jr.

Over six years, I prosecuted cases ranging from DUI and criminal traffic offenses to capital sexual battery, murder, and cocaine trafficking. I served as a lead trial attorney and was a member of the DUI Manslaughter Squad, often responding to fatal crash scenes in the early morning hours to work directly with law enforcement.

This hands-on, high-stakes experience gave me a deep understanding of the criminal justice system and how prosecutors build their cases. I now use that knowledge to defend the accused and anticipate the state's strategies, enabling me to build stronger defenses. 

From Prosecutor to Defender

In 2002, I transitioned into private practice and began representing individuals injured by negligence. But by 2006, I founded my firm to focus on what I do best: criminal defense and personal injury litigation. 

Since then, I have handled hundreds of cases across Florida, defending clients against charges such as:
